day 26 of bikram yoga challenge
Hello everyone!
I am nearly there, 26 days in.
Bikram is a yoga of extremes – when it is good, it is very, very good and when it is bad, it is bloody awful. Had a crap-tastic class tonight. Felt very melancholic and blue, really struggled. The day before (Day 25) was one of the easiest classes I’ve ever had. So there you go, it all balances out somehow.
Being a human being, I can’t help but look around at the yoga bodies around me. Some people really look amazing, it is very inspirational. The other day, I was looking around in the mirror and saw someone’s bottom half and thought “gee, i wish I had nice slim legs like that…” I looked up – and it was my legs!! Bikram Yoga is transforming my body so quickly, I can barely keep up!
Since I spend a lot of time looking at my toes, I invested in a pedicure. Nothing fancy, just pink polish. Gives me something nice to look at while lunging towards my toes in those unending sit ups.
Secret Bikram Confession: my breath in those situps is often just me going “whoosh, whoosh” like a child playing with a toy! not really doing a proper exhale, bad bad me.
Also have to take a double this week because I took a little “holiday” on Saturday. Bah.
What else? Oh yes. People. Yesterday I did: TOE STAND!!! Yes, it is a little wobbly and my hands are still on the floor. This is major progress for me, and certainly proves that yes, you can expect miracles to happen in Bikram Yoga.
